Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry

In our comprehensive two-year program, residents receive a wide scope of training in general pediatric dentistry and also have many opportunities to collaborate with other dental specialists.

Hands-on, high-tech specialty training in pediatric dentistry

The pediatric dentistry residency at ULSD is a two-year program based on three pillars: didactics, clinical care and research.

Graduates of the program receive a certificate and a MSD degree. The residency is an academic program, as well as a hospital-based program with a closely associated with Norton Children’s Hospital. In addition to Norton Children’s, residents perform rotations at the UofL pediatric dental clinic and at the Kosair for Kids Pediatric Center. As a result, residents receive a wide scope of training in general pediatric dentistry and also have many opportunities to collaborate with specialists in areas.

Technology is integrated into the program in the classroom and the clinic. From 3D imaging to laser treatments, students get hands-on experience with the latest technology in dentistry.

"Our residency program is unique because the residents are not only part of the university, but they're also part of Norton Children's Hospital."
