Community Outreach

Service-learning, community-based learning, and community engagement are essential components of the dental curricula of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD). All students are required to participate in service learning and community-based learning experiences throughout the four-year curriculum. Some of the experiences are part of an assigned course or rotation and others are voluntary. The goal is to promote the development of a culturally competent and service-minded oral healthcare professional.

Clinical Outreach Community Service Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to enhance community-based clinical outreach, cultural awareness and service-learning for the D4 student. If a student receives the outreach scholarship, they will complete additional rotations at three different sites that include the Paducah Clinic, CHC Bowling Green Clinic and the St. Claire/Morehead Clinic. Each clinic has a unique practice model which provides the scholars the opportunity to gain clinical skills and provide care to adults, children and special populations
