Office of Clinical Affairs

The Office of Clinical Affairs is responsible for daily clinical operations and for ensuring students receive adequate clinical experiences.

Responsibilities within the Office of Clinical Affairs include monitoring patient assignments to students, assuring that patients are treated in a timely manner and assuring there is consistency/calibration on materials and techniques being implemented in the clinics. This office also coordinates clinical licensure board exam formats and assists students in obtaining appropriate board indications.

Office leader: Paula Collins, DMD

A 1993 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and a Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, Dr. Collins has served as the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs since 2022.

Clinical Affairs Team

Faculty and staff working under the direction of the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs include:

Director of Clinics

Faculty member who supports functions such as development and implementation of clinical policies and protocols

Clinic Operations Manager

Staff member who establishes, maintains, and evaluates all operational systems and staff activities in the DMD clinical areas

Director of Quality Assurance

Faculty member who leads efforts to identify areas of improvement and implement resolutions for safe, timely, effective patient care
