Congratulations to OIID Researcher, Dr. Fata Moradali, on Receiving an R01 Grant from NIH

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Fata Moradali, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Immunology & Infectious Diseases, has been awarded an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their groundbreaking research on Elucidation of the structure and function of lipopolysaccharides in periodontal pathogens and their contribution to disease progression in periodontitis.

This prestigious grant is a testament to Dr. Moradali's dedication, innovation, and excellence in research. The R01 will support his ongoing efforts to advance our understanding of molecular interactions and signaling systems within host-pathogen interactions that play a significant role in the establishment of chronic infections and inflammation.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Moradali on this remarkable achievement and wishing him continued success in his research endeavors!

Faculty, staff, students, and postdoctoral fellows from the UofL School of Dentistry Department of Oral Immunology & Infectious Diseases are involved in cross-disciplinary projects to dissect the molecular and cellular basis of the interactions between oral bacteria and their host.
