The University of Louisville School of Dentistry's four-year DMD program curriculum is carefully structured to help students build competence and confidence through a step-by-step approach.
The D1 year focuses on fundamentals, with courses that cover basic sciences and essential principles of dentistry. The D2 year focuses on applying this knowledge through activities such as preclinical labs. In the D3 and D4 years, students build their knowledge, skills and judgement through direct patient care in our clinics and various rotation sites.
Throughout the journey, students have the support of our experienced faculty, others in their clinic team and their class cohort. It's an approach that helps students begin their career with not only with technical proficiency, but also with the critical thinking skills needed to become leaders in the field of dentistry.
